| Isaac Norris moved to Fentress County, Tennessee about 1835, from Macon County, North Carolina, where he was reportedly born in 1821. Little is definately known about Isaac. He was a farmer, as the census of Morgan County shows, in 1850-'70. In 1876 as found under a tax record for that year, shows that he owned 162 1/2 acres. In 1874, however, he only owned 126 1/2 acres and paid $212.50 in taxes. His date of death is unknown for sure. He probably died between 1891 and 1900, however as he is listed under Morgan County heads of households in 1891, but is not in the 1900 Morgan County Census. (It is also possible that he moved out of Morgan County, but it is more likely that he died between 1891 and 1900. His wife, Elizabeth, probably also died during this time. Their place of burial is unknown. According to the book "Marriages of Early Morgan Co. Residence", Isaac married about 1840, in Morgan Co., Tn to an Elizabeth. We believe that they probaly married about a year later, as it is shown that both Isaac and Elizabeth Hall were living at home in 1840. The book has only made an estimate at their marriage year. Isaac married Elizabeth Hall. Even less is known about her. Her parents were believed to be Luke and Agnes Cox Hall. According to the record of Morgan Co., she was born in Tennessee. Below is a copy of a deed showing were Isaac bought some land on Clear Creek in 1856 : "Isaac Norris This Indenture made on the 1st day of March 1868 Deed between Isaac Norris of the County of Morgan and the State To of Tennessee at the one part and Wm H.
